PETER J BENNETT

Peter’s strong sense of story, skill set and attention to detail are some of the things that allow him to bring out the best in every project. With almost 15 years of professional experience, he brings his passion for music and design to every endeavor. Accompanying this with his tireless work ethic and knowledge of VFX and workflows, serves to fuel his creative editing.

Peter studied Film and Tv at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2008 before going on to work on a multitude of short films in varying roles. In 2010 he moved to the UK to pursue his editing career, starting out at a small animation house in East London who specialized in Holograms. After a successful 3 years in London, Peter returned to Melbourne and signed on at Method Studios. Where he established himself as Method’s go-to comedy editor, cutting projects from high end TVC’s to Documentaries and Tv series. In 2017 he left Method Studios to pursue a freelance career where he continues to edit for a variety of different clients on projects ranging from Feature Films to Commercials.

His most recent projects being the feature documentary Belly of the Beast, and Aunty Donna’s Coffee Cafe which was AACTA award nominated for Best Editing in Television. In addition to cutting a plethora of commercials, short films and web series. He's also been an additional editor on The Whistleblower which was a 50 million dollar action thriller, and Mystify: Michael Hutchence where he worked alongside and was mentored by the editor Jill Bilcock. He's also been an assembly editor or assistant editor on The Dry, Class of ’07, Love Me, The Artful Dodger, Clickbait and Fires, among others.
